MOROCCO
A North African country bordering the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, Morocco is known for its warm hospitality and strong sense of community.
The country is celebrated for its Berber, Arabian and European cultural influences that filter down into Morocco’s food, architecture and religious beliefs.
Marrakesh’s medina, a maze-like medieval quarter, offers excitement in its Djemaa el-Fna square and marketplaces selling textiles, spices, ceramics, jewelry and metal lanterns.
But for me, the real gem is Fes, where Fes el Bali’s walled medina overflows with medieval Marinid architecture, vibrant souks and old-world charm.
